As a result of direct nail trauma and occurs when your nail has been damaged, this
open wound leads to infection. The fungal spores feed on the damaged nail leading
to discolouration and ultimately spread into the nail root, where the infection can
permanently damage and deform the nail bed. Tight foot wear, repetitive trauma
such as running and the pushing back of the cuticle during a pedicure can open up
a nail to infection.
Laser treats the root cause of the infection. Laser pulses are directed to the affected
nail and the nail bed where the infection lies eradicating the fungal cells. A course of
4 treatments is usually recommended.
Are caused by the human papilloma virus (HPV), a viral infection of the skin, very similar to a wart. It is very painful, unsightly and in severe cases immobilising. We frequently treat verrucae the size of a £2 coin. When large and painful, stubborn to resolve by themselves it will need specialist podiatrist care.
Laser treatment has radically changed the way that we treat verrucae at the clinic compared to traditional treatments such as caustics or cryotherapy. A course of 4 treatments is usually recommended.
Laser treatment is:
- Less painful after laser treatment so able to carry on with life as normal
- Small verrucaes starts healing far more quickly in just 1 treatment
(caustics take 8-9 treatments and cryotherapy 3 treatments)
- Large verrucaes are successfully treated in 4 treatmets
- Multiple large verrucaes are divided into sections over the usual 4 treatments
- Your feet can be washed as normal after laser treatment
Veins and Hair Removal
Thread veins result with age or trauma due to poor circulation to leg which
damages blood vessels that lie just under the skin. Unsightly toe nail hairs
are also treated successfully with laser treatment.
